PRIVACY POLICY

Infotrade Maalicard. Welcome to Maalicard. We believe that consumers deserve the utmost respect when it comes to the privacy of their personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to FIT Insights, Infotrade Maalicard, Catalogue Shoppers -Marketplace, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Maali Financial Corporation (together, “Maalicard”, “we,” “us” or “our”).
Infotrade Maalicard is Subsidiary of FIT INSIGHTS LIMITED. (“MaaliCard,” “we,” or “us“) in the Uganda want you to be familiar with how we collect, use and disclose information. This Privacy Policy describes our practices in connection with information that we collect through our website at www.maalicard.com and its subdomains or the mobile application e.tc (the “Site“) , as well as the Maalicard application for financial services or credit platform offered on the Site and on certain third-party sites (collectively, the “Services“). By using our Services, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may change this Privacy Policy. Please take a look at the “Last Updated” legend at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Policy was last revised. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site. Your use of the Services following these changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
We have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information and data when you use MaaliCard websites, services, and mobile applications. This Privacy Policy also explains your choices for managing information preferences, including opting out of certain uses of your personal information. By accessing or using FIT Insights websites, mobile applications or services, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

This policy applies to all current and former Maalicard customers. Note that, in order to use our services, you must be 18 years of age or older.

PERSONAL DATA, PERSONAL INFORMATION, AND PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

MaaliCard collects a limited amount of information that identifies you as an individual. Depending on the legal jurisdiction, this information may constitute personal data, personal information, or personally identifiable information. Pursuant to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), personal data is defined as:
any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identify of that natural person.
The definition of “personal data” is broader than the terms personally identifiable information and personal information, which are terms used in the Republic of Uganda. We hereby define personal data to included but not limited; personally identifiable information as a name in combination with a limited sub-set of sensitive data fields such as TIN, National Identification ID, Telephone Number, driver’s license number, etc.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, we shall use the term “personal data” to also include “personally identifiable information” and “personal information.” However, there may be instances where local legal requirements necessitate us distinguishing between personal data, personally identifiable information, and personal information.

Personal Data We Collect
We collect personal information about you that you provide while you use www. Maalicard.com or www.fitinsightsgroup.com or catalogueshoppers.com or any associated websites, desktop or mobile applications (collectively, the “Maalicard website” or “Maalicard websites”). We collect most of this information during the registration and/or application process for microloans, and third services like insurance , billers. Additional information may be gathered during your subsequent use of the FIT Insights /Maalicard websites, or when we communicate with you via telephone, email or other means.
Certain personal information must be supplied during the onboarding, your parent associating organsitions like cooperatives, saving groups, registration and application processes in order to meet our legal obligations, verify your identity, facilitate determinations for credit eligibility, protect against fraud, and complete your transaction.

The following categories of information may be collected:

  • Your basic identifying information (for example, your name, address, email, telephone number, and date of birth);
  • Your TIN number;
  • Your employment and income information;
  • Your bank account information;
  • For a microloan to be used with a merchant or service provider (e.g., a healthcare provider, seed company) the identity of the merchant or service provider and the name of the party that will receive the good or service;
  • Other information you may provide in connection with a financial product or service, such as your demographic information (where permitted or required by applicable law) and the location and value of the property securing your loan;
  • Any personal information you provide us
We may also collect information that you provide to us about your co-applicant in connection with a joint application or joint use of a service or next kin. By submitting information about someone other than yourself, you represent that you are authorized to provide us with that person’s information for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy and/or in connection with our services.
In addition, we gather names, email addresses and phone numbers of people who contact us with questions. We collect this information only for the purpose of responding to inquiries. If you use our “refer-a-friend” feature, we will collect information from you in order to process your referral request.
If you use the comments section of our blog on www.maalicard.com, you should be aware that information you submit is stored there and will be visible to other users of the Maalicard websites and other associated websites.

Tracking Technologies
Cookies and Web Beacons.  MaaliCard and our marketing partners and service providers use technologies such as but not limited to cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts, to analyze trends, administer the MAALICARD websites, track users’ movements around the MAALICARD websites, and gather information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports on this activity on an individual and aggregated basis.
We use cookies when you interact with MaaliCard websites to keep track of your personal session, help authenticate your account, and detect fraud. Cookies are also used to gather statistical data, such as which pages are frequently visited, what is downloaded, and the address of sites visited immediately before or after coming to MAALICARD websites. You can control the use of cookies within your web browser. However, if you reject cookies, your ability to use some features or areas of MAALICARD websites may be limited.

Usage Data & Site Activity. 
MaaliCard also uses Local Storage, such as HTML5, to store content information and preferences. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5.

Third Party Technologies. We also partner with third parties to manage our advertising services on other websites and evaluate overall MaaliCard website performance, and/or to collect certain information when you visit and interact with MAALICARD websites and services. These third party companies may use technologies such as cookies to recognize browsers and to gather information about your activities on MAALICARD websites and other sites in order to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests or help us track the success of our marketing efforts, your interactions with MAALICARD websites, and overall MaaliCard website performance. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you interest-based ads, you may opt-out of certain advertising networks by email: privacy @maalicard.com. Please note this does not opt you out of being served ads. You will continue to receive generic ads.

Do-Not-Track Signals MaaliCard does not process or respond to “do not track” signals or other similar signals whereby a visitor to a website requests that it disable collection of information about the visitor’s online activities over time and across different websites.

How We Use Personal Data
We may use Personal Data:
  • To track your use of the Site and the Services, including your enrollment in, and progress with, Financial Services offered on the Site or by certain third-party sites that use the Services.
  • To respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests, such as to send you newsletters, informative information
  • To send you important information regarding the Site, Maali Ecosystem, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies and/or other administrative information.
  • To complete and fulfill service application, for example, to process your signups, service applications, enabling payments, transfer, withdraws, provide you with the products or services you have purchased, to communicate with you regarding your selected service and to provide you with related customer service.
  • To send you marketing communications that we believe may be of interest to you.
  • To personalize your experience on the Site and the Financial Services.
  • For our business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, developing new products, enhancing our website, improving our services, identifying usage trends and determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns.

Your Personal Information may be disclosed:

  • To our third-party service providers who provide services such as website hosting, data analysis payment processing, order fulfillment, infrastructure provision, IT services, customer service, email delivery services, credit card processing, auditing services and other similar services to enable them to provide services.
  • To identify you to anyone to whom you send messages through the Site.
  • By you, on message boards, chat, profile pages and blogs and other services to which you are able to post information and materials. Please note that any information and materials that you post or disclose through these services will become public information, and may be available to visitors to the Site and to the general public. “Other Information” is any information that does not reveal your specific identity or does not directly relate to an individual, such as:

How We Collect Other Information

We and our third-party service providers may collect Other Information in a variety of ways, including:

  • Through your browser: Certain information is collected by most browsers, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, computer type (Windows or Mac OS), screen resolution, operating system version and Internet browser type and version.
  • Through server log files: An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer that you are using by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), and is identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever a user visits the Site, along with the time of the visit and the page(s) that were visited. We use IP addresses for purposes such as calculating Site usage levels, helping diagnose server problems, and administering the Site.

  • By aggregating information: We may aggregate Personal Data so that the end-product does not personally identify you or any other user of the Site, for example, by using Personal Data to calculate the percentage of our users who have a particular telephone area code. Aggregated Personal Data does not personally identify you or any other user of the Site.
How We Use and Disclose Other Information

Because Other Information does not personally identify you, we may use and disclose Other Information for any purpose. In some instances, we may combine Other Information with Personal Data (such as combining your name with your GPS code). If we combine any Other Information with Personal Data, the combined information will be treated by us as Personal Data as long as it is combined.

This Privacy Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site to which this Site contains a link. The inclusion of a link on the Site does not imply endorsement of the linked site by us or by our affiliates.

SECURITY

We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect Personal Data under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us in accordance with the “Contacting Us” or customercare@maalicard.com . section below.

CHOICES AND ACCESS

Your choices regarding our use and disclosure of your Personal Data

We give you many choices regarding our use and disclosure of your Personal Data for marketing purposes. You may opt-out from: Receiving marketing-related emails If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from us or third-parties who offer the Services on a going-forward basis, you may opt-out of receiving these marketing-related emails by sending an email to privacy@maalicard.com with the subject "Unsubscribe from marketing emails".
We will try to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that if you opt-out as described above, we will not be able to remove your Personal Data from the databases of our affiliates or unaffiliated third parties with which we have already shared your Personal Data (i.e., to which we have already provided your Personal Data as of the date that we implement your opt-out request). Please also note that if you do opt-out of receiving marketing-related messages from us, we may still send important administrative messages to you, and you cannot opt-out from receiving administrative messages.
How you can access, change or delete your Personal Information
If you would like to review, update, or delete your Personal Data that has been previously provided to us, you may contact us by emailing us at privacy@maalicard.com
In your request, please make clear what information you would like to have changed, or if you would like your account deleted in its entirety. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable. We will also follow standard practices from our third parties to have your personal data removed from their services.

EU GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION

We believe the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are an exciting and necessary step in the right direction to improve privacy and security on the web. As such, we extend the protections provided in the GDPR to all users, regardless of their location.

USE OF SITE BY MINORS

The Site is not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen, and we request that these individuals do not provide Personal Data through the Site. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected Personal Data from an individual under the age of 18, we will make all reasonable efforts to delete such information from our database. JURISDICTIONAL ISSUES

The Site is controlled and operated by us from the Republic of Uganda , and is not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country or territory other than that of the Republic of Uganda
